Nestled within the scenic Serras do Porto, the 'House Over the Hills' by Diogo Aguiar Studio stands as a testament to innovative modular timber construction. Its design ethos thoughtfully engages with the surrounding mountainous landscape, employing a clever interplay of identical, angular volumes whose sloped planes evoke the very peaks visible from afar. The initial blueprint called for a three-bedroom dwelling, cleverly integrated across five distinct modules, complemented by three additional standalone modules accessible from the exterior, ensuring a adaptable living environment for evolving needs.
The core concept behind the 'House Over the Hills' centers on a modular timber construction approach, emphasizing sustainability and efficiency. Each module is meticulously crafted to contribute to the overall aesthetic, which subtly echoes the rugged beauty of the Portuguese hills.
