Nestled in a verdant valley within the picturesque countryside of São Paulo, the CR Residence represents a remarkable collaboration between the architectural prowess of Studio Arthur Casas and the refined interior design sensibilities of Lucas Takaoka. This expansive 850 square meter dwelling, finalized in 2024, was conceived with a clear objective: to carve out distinctly purposed spaces within its social areas, allowing each to possess its own character and designated function.

The Thoughtful Creation of CR Residence's Interiors

In the heart of Brazil's São Paulo countryside, the CR Residence emerges as a beacon of meticulous design. The project, brought to fruition in 2024, involved a synergistic effort between the esteemed Studio Arthur Casas for its architectural blueprint and Lucas Takaoka's dedicated studio for its intricate interior design. The primary challenge addressed during the conception phase was to imbue the expansive social areas with clearly delineated functions, ensuring that each zone within the residence offered a unique experience and served a particular purpose. This involved a thoughtful arrangement of furniture and a careful selection of materials from manufacturers like Fabriko, Herança Cultural, Milar Sofás, and Uniflex, all coordinated by Beatriz Bosschart, with a project team including Bruna Simões and Carolina Petito, and landscape design by Nature Tree, to achieve a harmonious and functional living environment.

Originally a communal dwelling for four families, this substantial 23 x 23-meter structure has been meticulously transformed into a singular, expansive family home. The acclaimed architectural firm, zU-studio, spearheaded this ambitious project, deftly navigating the complexities of preserving the building's inherent character while infusing it with contemporary functionality and sustainable practices. The result is a harmonious blend of past and present, a testament to thoughtful architectural evolution.

A Detailed Look at the Basque Farm Transformation

In the picturesque setting of the Basque Country, the renovation of this ancestral farmhouse, completed in the summer of 2026, stands as a beacon of architectural ingenuity. The project, meticulously curated by Valentina Díaz, saw zU-studio, under the leadership of architect Javier Zubiria Gallastegui, re-envision the original four-quarters layout into a cohesive single-family residence. With an impressive area of 1111 square meters, the design focused on retaining the authentic spirit of the farm. Technical architectural oversight was provided by Lander Arregui, while INAK handled the structural engineering, and Koldo Kerejeta served as the constructor.
