Home Depot's Famous 12-Foot Skeleton Gains Interactive Voice Features

Home Depot is introducing a significant upgrade to its renowned 12-foot skeleton, Skelly, to maintain its appeal as a popular Halloween decoration. This new iteration incorporates technology previously seen in the smaller 6.5-foot Ultra Skelly, notably allowing users to interact with trick-or-treaters by speaking through the skeleton's animated mouth using a mobile application. This enhanced version of Skelly will be available for purchase online starting tomorrow for $379, with in-store availability expected later this summer, alongside a fresh assortment of Halloween-themed characters.
The latest Skelly model boasts a considerable increase in its animated LCD eye options, expanding from eight to twenty distinct animations that can be selected via the companion app. These new eye animations even cater to holidays beyond Halloween. Furthermore, the app provides customization options for Skelly's head and mouth movements and allows users to record and playback up to 30 unique sounds or phrases. For real-time engagement, the Bluetooth connectivity enables direct communication through the skeleton, perfect for surprising visitors from a distance. For those who prefer a simpler decoration without these advanced functionalities, Home Depot will continue to offer the original Skelly at its previous price of $299.
This upgraded Skelly is part of Home Depot's broader release of new Halloween figures and animatronics for the season. The collection includes an 11-foot mummy featuring sound and motion-activated LED lighting, eerie glowing trees with unsettling faces ideal for creating a haunted forest effect, an 8-foot zombie velociraptor with illuminated eyes, and a three-piece set of Gremlins known for their animated movements and sounds. Additionally, there is a new interactive zombie parrot designed to engage children with 20 prerecorded phrases, providing unique responses to yes or no questions.
