The Starfire Discovery Camp in Shenzhen's Dapeng New District now boasts an innovative canopy structure, ingeniously crafted by CM Design. This architectural addition is a crucial element of the camp's overarching vision, transforming it into a multifaceted outdoor learning and recreational hub. The canopy, covering an area of 495 square meters and completed in 2026, serves as a protective shield against both harsh sunlight and rain, enabling continuous outdoor activities regardless of weather conditions. It is nestled within a culturally rich landscape, in close proximity to the historic Dongshan Temple and the ancient Dapeng Fortress and Jiaochangwei, integrating modern design with historical context. This structure was specifically commissioned to broaden the camp's utility, supporting its programs in research-based education, agricultural tourism, and various leisure pursuits.

Designed by CM Design, the canopy at Shenzhen Dapeng New District Starfire Discovery Camp is an integral part of a larger initiative to create a dynamic outdoor environment. The project, located in Shenzhen, China, was officially completed in 2026. The architectural firm, CM Design, led by a dedicated team including Chen Danping, Qiu Chen, Zhu Liyin, Mao Qingji, and intern Zhao Shujie, focused on both aesthetic appeal and functional necessity. The construction was meticulously executed by Shenzhen Jiangxin Jianzao Engineering Co., Ltd. and Dongguan Chenxin Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., ensuring high standards of engineering and durability. The structure's primary role is to provide essential shelter, thereby supporting a wide array of outdoor activities from educational workshops to cultural events and leisure experiences. The strategic placement of the canopy enhances the camp's capacity to host diverse programs, enriching visitors' experiences year-round.
