This community was profoundly affected by a dam collapse in January 2019, and the project's core mission is to help them reconnect with their origins and heritage.

This endeavor seeks to create spaces that facilitate healing and foster a renewed sense of place. Through thoughtful design and community engagement, the project aims to not only restore what was lost but also to enhance the quality of life for residents, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future. The plan integrates various elements to support social cohesion and environmental recovery, turning a site of tragedy into a beacon of hope and renewal.

Ultimately, the "Territory-Park" project stands as a testament to human resilience and the power of collaborative design. It demonstrates how architecture and urban planning can serve as tools for recovery, helping communities to confront and overcome adversity by strengthening their ties to their environment and each other. La Negrilla House, a striking residential project, represents a seamless fusion of contemporary design and natural splendor. Situated in the picturesque coastal town of Matanzas, Chile, the dwelling offers a tranquil sanctuary, capturing the essence of seaside living. Its design, conceived by the visionary team at Croxatto y Opazo Arquitectos, emphasizes both aesthetic appeal and a deep connection to the breathtaking Pacific Ocean vistas. The thoughtful integration of the structure into its elevated setting ensures residents experience unparalleled views and a profound sense of serenity.

Coastal Serenity: The Architectural Narrative of La Negrilla House

In the vibrant coastal region of Matanzas, Chile, approximately two and a half hours south of Santiago, stands La Negrilla House, a magnificent vacation residence. Completed in 2025, this architectural marvel, crafted by Croxatto y Opazo Arquitectos, is strategically positioned 50 meters above sea level. This elevated location affords residents sweeping, unobstructed views of the vast Pacific Ocean and the verdant coastal landscape. The project's team included Nicolás Opazo, Felipe Croxatto, Martín Dellatorre, and José Pablo O’Ryan, with Construction FCF managing the construction, Javiera Uribe overseeing the landscaping, and Luis Della Valle providing structural engineering expertise. Spanning an area of 152 square meters, the house masterfully blends with its surroundings, using materials like wood to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that complements the natural beauty of Matanzas. Photographer Cristóbal Palma expertly captured the essence of this coastal retreat.

La Negrilla House exemplifies how modern architecture can create living spaces that are both luxurious and in tune with nature.
