In the heart of Shanghai, where historical charm meets modern vibrancy, HCCH Studio has unveiled a remarkable installation named “Bent by Spring.” This creation, a suspended bamboo canopy, serves not only as a seasonal symbol but also as a dynamic public arena. Situated within the sunken plaza of Gucheng Park, a pivotal location connecting the iconic Bund with the serene Yu Garden, it draws visitors into a unique architectural experience.

The installation's strategic placement allows it to engage in a profound conversation between Shanghai’s ancient urban fabric and the futuristic skyline of Lujiazui, visible across the river. “Bent by Spring” was a special commission for the Shanghai International Flower Show, embodying a fusion of natural materials and innovative design. The structure's organic form, crafted from bamboo, contrasts beautifully with its urban surroundings, creating a tranquil yet engaging space for contemplation and interaction.
