Shipments are anticipated to commence in mid-October 2025.

Performance and Pricing: A Closer Look at the Nebula P1

While the full retail price of the Nebula X1 Pro stands at $5,000, the more compact Nebula P1 is designed with a different set of specifications. It delivers a native resolution of 1080P and an LED light source capable of producing 650 ANSI lumens of brightness. To achieve the maximum projected screen size of 180 inches, as advertised by Anker, it is advisable to operate the projector in a dimly lit or dark environment.

Enhanced Usability: Smart Features and Power Considerations

Setting up the Nebula P1 is straightforward, thanks to its integrated autofocus, automatic keystone correction, and a built-in gimbal that provides 130 degrees of movement for easy angle adjustments. This ensures a sharp and correctly aligned image with minimal effort. However, prospective users planning outdoor movie nights or presentations should note a key power requirement: while the P1's two detachable 10W Bluetooth speakers offer an impressive battery life of up to 20 hours, the projector unit itself does not have an internal battery and must remain connected to a power source during operation. This means an extension cord will be a necessary accessory for extended outdoor usage.

The Nothing Ear 3 earbuds represent an intriguing blend of innovative features and familiar design, aiming to push the boundaries of earbud technology. These wireless earbuds, priced at $179, are the latest iteration in Nothing's lineup, following the Ear 1, Ear 2, and the less-emphasized 'Ear' model. While they successfully carry forward the brand's signature aesthetic, their standout feature is the experimental Super Mic system, which offers a unique approach to enhancing call quality.

A key innovation in the Ear 3 is the integrated Super Mic system, a pioneering concept in the earbud market. This system incorporates two microphones directly into the charging case, designed to capture clearer audio for calls, voice notes, and AI assistant interactions. A dedicated 'TALK' button on the case allows users to switch between the case microphones and the earbud microphones, or to temporarily activate the Super Mic. For smart assistant access, a long press on this button provides a convenient shortcut. It is important to note that the Super Mic functionality is dependent on at least one earbud being connected to a smartphone, as the case itself does not establish a direct connection.

While the physical design of the microphones on the case appears more substantial than those on the earbuds, the primary advantage of the Super Mic seems to stem from basic acoustics: a microphone held closer to the mouth naturally produces superior sound compared to one positioned near the ear. This addresses a long-standing challenge for earbud manufacturers since the transition from wired headphones with inline microphones. However, testing reveals a significant variability in the Super Mic's performance. Under optimal conditions, it delivers impressive depth, warmth, and clarity, making it suitable for high-quality audio recording. Conversely, suboptimal positioning or obstruction can drastically reduce sound quality, sometimes even performing worse than the earbud microphones. This inconsistency means that mastering the Super Mic requires some practice, and it may not always meet expectations for spontaneous use, such as recording voice notes while multitasking.

Another aspect of the Super Mic's functionality that presents challenges is its compatibility and latency. While it generally works with standard voice and video call applications like WhatsApp, Zoom, and WeChat, as well as iOS Voice Memos, it does not seamlessly integrate with default camera apps on most iOS or Android devices for video recording. This limitation means users wanting to employ it as a handheld microphone for platforms like TikTok might need to rely on third-party applications that allow manual microphone selection. Although iOS 26 is expected to introduce system-level microphone selection, this feature did not fully resolve the compatibility issues during testing. Furthermore, the Super Mic exhibits a noticeable lag when recording video in applications like Blackmagic, resulting in audio-video synchronization problems. While this delay might be negligible for typical voice calls, it poses a significant hurdle for any video content that requires precise synchronization and cannot be easily post-edited.

Despite these inconsistencies, the noise cancellation capabilities for calls on the Nothing Ear 3 are commendable. During tests conducted in noisy environments, such as near a jackhammer, the earbuds effectively filtered out background noise, although this sometimes led to a slight choppiness in the user's own voice. In contrast, the active noise cancellation (ANC) for audio playback was found to be average for its price range. Environmental sounds, whether from city streets, gyms, or public transport, consistently penetrated the noise cancellation, indicating that users seeking complete silence would need to invest in higher-end models like the Bose QuietComfort Ultra. On the audio quality front, the Ear 3 perform well, boasting features such as LDAC Hi-Res audio, personalized sound profiles, customizable EQ settings, spatial audio, and a low-latency mode for gaming. The default sound profile is dynamic and bass-rich, with extensive equalization options allowing users to tailor the sound to their preferences. The battery life is standard, offering approximately 5.5 hours with ANC enabled and 10 hours without, with the charging case providing an additional three full charges.

Visually, the Nothing Ear 3 maintain the distinctive design established by their predecessors, characterized by a mix of white, black, and transparent plastics.
