The project was conceived as a pivotal element of Shenzhen's expanding cultural infrastructure, thoughtfully combining exhibition areas, research facilities, educational spaces, and public gathering points into a unified civic hub. 3XN spearheaded the architectural conceptualization, B+H Architects provided lead consultancy, executive architectural services, and landscape design, while Zhubo Design offered crucial local technical expertise and regulatory navigation throughout the development phases.

Nestled by the picturesque Yanzi Lake, the museum's design unfolds as a continuous landscape, harmoniously merging the structure with its riparian environment.
